Is It Possible For A Business To Survive Without Using Social Media?

Posted by: Charlotte's Doodad Blog on: 01/18/2012

These days, social media is all the rage, as it seems like everyone is using such sites as facebook and Twitter and YouTube. But while some people see social media as an interesting fad, other people see social media as a vital part of the future of business. And so the question that businesses and businessmen must search out the answer to is: Is it possible for my business to survive without using social media?

In order to answer this question, the first thing you need to understand is that – undoubtedly – social media can benefit a business. After all, a single “tweet” can spread like fire, and a “viral” video can be seen by millions of people in a matter of weeks. And as for facebook, it seems like there is hardly anyone in the country (or even around the world) who is not plugged into facebook.

Of course, if you never learn to use social media in an effective manner, these sites will not help out your business very much at all. This is why it is important for you, as a businessman, to take the time to understand the ways in which you can use social media effectively.

And as for answering the question of whether a business has the ability to survive without using social media well, the answer is: no one knows. Many prognosticators predict that social media truly is the way of the future – that these are not fads, and that they will actually stick around. And if this turns out to be the case, it is true that your business will be left behind if it is not connected to social media.

But even if social media does not end up sticking around for the long run, this does not negate the fact that social media is extremely popular right now. And in this present climate, you can use social media to help you a lot in your goals of furthering and expanding your business. Social media can be hugely beneficial to your business, and even though no one can say for certain whether it is truly here to stay, it is certainly here right now – and you would be best served to learn how to use it!
